During the pandemic, Pam was introduced to song writing while hosting Kid Pan Alley, https://www.kidpanalley.org/ at her school virtually.  Attending the Rocky Mountain Song School in 2021 and 2022 in Lyons, Colorado, https://bluegrass.com/song-school, she has become completely engaged with the song writing workshops. Attending workshops with Paul Reisler, Ellis Delaney, Amy Speace, Steve Seskin, Jenn Cleary, Rebecca Folsom, Peter Himmelman, Vance Gilbert, Moira Smiley, Bonnie Hayes and Ron Browning have helped her begin this journey. In 2023, she attended the New England Song Writers Retreat led by Ellis Paul, Laurie Macallister, Molly Venter, Dan Bern, Antje Duvekot and Mark Erellis.

Many of her songs focus on topics that help children solve problems that come up in life and their social emotional well-being.  This year, she has begun writing songs for the Songs of Love Foundation, an amazing organization. Please check out their link above. Other have remarked that she sounds like Judy Collins and her audiences believe she has a Fred Rogers effect.  She loves the music of Tom Chapin, Ella Jenkins, Raffi, Laurie Berkner, Dan Zanes, Ruth Pelham, Taj Mahal, Keb Mo, Mavis Staples and so many members of the Children’s Music Network, as well as many Broadway musicals.
